BIG SKY, Mont. – The Big Sky Resort is opening Wednesday, Nov. 22 for their 2023-24 season and at the same time celebrating its 50-year anniversary.
While the Madison range has not seen a lot of snow in recent weeks, the resort has spent 250 hours using its snowmaking machinery to get the slopes prepared for opening day. The cold weather has made it nice and powdery, said Stacie Mesuda, Big Sky Resort public relations manager. They plan to have snowmaking wrapped up by Dec. 15.
In celebration of the resort’s 50th anniversary, opening day will have a dj at the base area, along with breakfast treats and complimentary hot cocoa. More celebrations will happen throughout the season, including the opening of the new Lone Peak Tram.
