Weeks after President Joe Biden announced his withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race and endorses Vice President Kamala Harris as his successor, Democratic gubernatorial candidate Ryan Busse has yet to publicly address the situation.
Montana Republican Party Chairman Don “K” Kaltschmidt criticized Busse for his silence, calling it a “disservice to all Montanans.” Kaltschmidt argued that Busse’s failure to clarify his stance on Biden’s campaign suspension and Harris’s endorsement suggests an attempt to distance himself from the Biden administration’s record.
Kaltschmidt said, “Ryan Busse’s lack of transparency about where he stands on Joe Biden suspending his campaign and endorsing Kamala Harris is a disservice to all Montanans. This appears to be a desperate attempt to rewrite his support for Joe Biden and to distance himself from the failures of the Biden/Harris administration amidst their struggling campaign.”
For context:
– Ryan Busse has previously expressed support for Joe Biden.
– Busse served as an advisor for Biden’s 2020 presidential campaign.
– Busse’s wife, Sara, received over $42,000 in contributions from Biden for President.
– In 2022, Biden appointed Busse to the Wildlife Conservation Council.
As of now, Busse has not issued any statements regarding Biden’s decision or Harris’s endorsement.
