Guest Opinion: Busse Is Bad For Montana

As a Montanan and avid sportsman, I know hunting, fishing, and hiking are treasured activities for our Montana families.

For these reasons and many more, our Montana way of life is second to none, making this the best state to live free, work hard, and safely raise a family. Unfortunately, radical liberals on the far left, such as Democrat Ryan Busse, are now running campaigns aimed at destroying the quality of life and our freedoms as Montanans.

The Democratic candidate for governor of Montana, Busse, wants to take away the Second Amendment rights of the thousands of people in the state who lawfully and securely own or carry firearms. Busse’s policies would be detrimental to both our way of life and our God-given rights as Montanans and Americans.

Busse is an anti-gun extremist whose ‘F’ rating from the NRA makes it clear he doesn’t share our values. On the other hand, Gov. Greg Gianforte is an avid outdoorsman who understands the importance of our Second Amendment rights. Gov. Gianforte’s ‘A’ rating from the NRA proves that.

Busse has made repeated calls for gun control to take away Montanans’ gun rights, calling gun owners radical and even irresponsible. Not to mention, Busse is an advisor to GIFFORDS, a top gun control group that supports sweeping gun-ban legislation.

Montanans must be aware that Busse has also supported liberal Sen. Jon Tester, who has voted 95% of the time with the Biden-Harris agenda. Additionally, Ryan Busse claimed the “smartest people” he’d ever testified in front of were squad members AOC and Jamie Raskin.
I have no doubt that Busse will try to impose on Montana the same disastrous policies we see coming out of Washington under Jon Tester and Kamala Harris.

Busse has repeatedly told Montanans that he was an advisor to Joe Biden in 2020. In 2022, Biden even appointed Busse to the U.S. Hunting and Wildlife Conservation Council — undoubtedly to continue pushing a partisan and radical agenda that mirrors Biden’s 2020 campaign platform, which some have described as “the most far-reaching and radical gun control agenda ever proposed by a presidential campaign.”

And don’t forget that Busse was all in for President Joe Biden when he decided to run for reelection but has yet to endorse Kamala Harris. I wonder why?

Democrats like Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Jon Tester, and Ryan Busse are too weak and dangerously liberal for Montana. If elected, Busse will work under the Biden-Harris banner to impose mandatory gun buybacks and other radical policies that will continue to make life harder and more restrictive for freedom-loving Montanans.

It’s simple: Ryan Busse is wrong for Montana and wants to destroy our way of life.
