A recent statewide poll in Montana, commissioned by NonStop Local, indicates Republican candidate Tim Sheehy is ahead of incumbent Democratic Senator Jon Tester in the U.S. Senate race. The poll, conducted by American Pulse Research and Polling from August 10 to August 12, surveyed 538 registered voters and has a margin of error of +/- 4.2%.
According to the survey, Sheehy is leading with 50.8% of the vote compared to 44.7% for Tester. Additionally, 3.8% of respondents remain undecided.
In terms of favorable ratings, Sheehy holds a slight edge with 49.8%, while Tester trails at 44.7%. The poll also highlights Sheehy’s advantage on key issues affecting Montanans.
When asked about handling the economy and inflation, 50.6% of voters expressed confidence in Sheehy, while 42.1% preferred Tester. On immigration, Sheehy received 56.2% support compared to Tester’s 39%. The margin was narrower on abortion, with Sheehy garnering 45.3% and Tester 42.9%.
