Trump Rallies in Bozeman

Former President Donald Trump held a campaign rally in Bozeman, Montana, on Friday night, aiming to energize supporters and impact down-ballot races in a state he previously won in the 2020 presidential election.

“Less than three months from now, we are going to defeat radical left Democrat John Tester and send Tim Sheehy to the United States Senate,” Trump declared during the event.

A capacity crowd filled MSU’s Brick Breeden Field House to hear from President Trump and Montana Republicans.

Earlier in the day, Trump’s travel plans faced an unexpected hurdle when his plane had to make an unscheduled stop in Billings due to a mechanical issue, according to airport staff.

Trump’s visit underscores his effort to unseat incumbent Democratic Senator Jon Tester in the upcoming 2024 election. Tester, who has historically won his Senate races by narrow margins, faces a significant challenge this year. His opponent, political newcomer Tim Sheehy, has criticized Tester for aligning too closely with Democratic policies.

“Jon Tester is by 95% in lockstep with the Biden-Harris agenda,” Sheehy told media outlets. “So I don’t think his attempt to present himself as a moderate is going to work.”
