2024 Employer of Choice Award Winners

The Montana Department of Labor and Industry has announced the winners of the 2024 Montana State Employers Council Employers of Choice Award. This annual accolade celebrates employers who demonstrate exceptional dedication to attracting and retaining employees, thereby nurturing a vibrant workplace culture.

“Montana’s small businesses are integral to our economy and our way of life. It is a privilege to recognize companies that go above and beyond for their employees,” said Commissioner Sarah Swanson. “These businesses, alongside thousands across our state, exemplify the value of hard work and the importance of fostering a positive and productive internal culture.”

Nominated companies from Missoula, Glendive, Billings, and Kalispell stood out for their outstanding workforce management efforts. Awards were distributed across three categories based on company size: 1-50 employees, 51-150 employees, and 151+ employees.

In all categories, Missoula businesses emerged as the winners:

– **Homeword—Missoula** (1-50 employees)
– **ALPS—Missoula** (51-150 employees)
– **Submittable—Missoula** (150+ employees)

David Bell, President and CEO of ALPS, remarked, “On behalf of everyone at ALPS, we are honored to once again be recognized as an employer of choice. Being a great employer goes beyond benefits or work-life balance. It’s about cultivating a strong company culture where diverse individuals unite in pursuit of a common mission and care deeply for one another.”

Karissa Trujilo, Executive Director of Homeword, added, “We thrive as an employer because of our incredible team and workplace culture here at Homeword. Our staff are not only passionate and skilled, but they also foster a supportive and balanced work environment. I am immensely proud of the dedication and impact of our team, who are deeply committed to our critical work benefiting Montanans statewide.”

The awards underscore the commitment of these businesses to fostering exemplary workplaces and contributing positively to Montana’s employment landscape.
