This year’s fair featured 602 booths rented to 301 vendors, marking a 6.5% decrease from the 322 vendors in 2023. Despite the drop in vendor numbers, fairgoers contributed over $3.2 million in total spending on goods, services, and concessions during the six-day event.
South Dakota has experienced steady revenue from the State Fair in recent years, attracting thousands of attendees eager to enjoy a variety of family-friendly attractions.
The breakdown of tax collected during the fair includes $136,745.50 in state sales tax, $63,106.02 in Huron’s municipal sales tax, $19,256.35 in municipal gross receipts tax, and $47,244.34 in state tourism tax.
