Actor Danny Masterson admitted to California prison after rape conviction

The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation has verified that actor Daniel Masterson, known for his role in “That ’70s Show,” has been incarcerated at North Kern State Prison in Delano following his conviction for rape earlier this year. Masterson is currently undergoing the classification and reception process, as confirmed by the CDCR on Wednesday.

In May, Masterson was found guilty of raping two women in 2003 during his time on the Fox retro sitcom “That ’70s Show.” On September 7, he received a sentence of 30 years to life with the potential for parole. The jury, consisting of seven women and five men, deliberated for seven days over two weeks to reach the verdict. However, they were unable to reach a decision on the third count, which alleged that Masterson had raped a longtime girlfriend, with an 8-4 vote in favor of conviction.

Following a mistrial in December due to a deadlocked jury, prosecutors retried Masterson, accusing him of forcibly raping three women in his Hollywood Hills home between 2001 and 2003. They asserted that he drugged the women’s drinks to facilitate the assaults and used his influence in the Church of Scientology, where all three women were members at the time, to evade consequences for decades.
