Montana State was picked to finish second in the Big Sky Conference women’s golf preseason coaches’ poll, giving the Bobcats one of the league’s highest expectations heading into the 2026-27 season.
The Bobcats received 88 points and two first-place votes from the conference’s 11 head coaches, who were not allowed to vote for their own teams. Northern Arizona took the top spot with 97 points and eight first-place votes, while Northern Colorado was third with 84 points and one first-place vote.
Montana State enters the season after finishing third at the 2026 Big Sky Women’s Golf Championship and putting together one of the strongest seasons in program history.
The Bobcats set a school record with a 295.17 four-player scoring average and collected five All-Big Sky honors, four Big Sky Golfer of the Week awards and three individual victories. The team also earned its first tournament victory since 2002 with a 15-stroke win at the 2025 Yellowstone Intercollegiate.
Montana State will carry a seven-player roster into the new season, led by seniors Eva Heinz and Norah Seidl. Seidl won medalist honors at the Big Sky Championship last season, while Heinz was among the team’s experienced returners.
The roster also includes junior newcomers Elvira Flodström and Nadia Sanz Ouezzani, along with sophomores Sailor Graham, Lauren Nau and Ashleigh Wilson.
Montana State opens the season Sept. 14-15 at the Branch Law Firm/McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M.
The full preseason poll placed Weber State fourth, followed by Idaho, Portland State, Utah Tech, Idaho State, Montana, Southern Utah and Eastern Washington.
