BOZEMAN — The Montana 4-H Foundation has recently disbursed close to $40,000 in scholarships to 45 graduating 4-H members and alumni across the state, aiming to support their educational pursuits for the upcoming academic year of 2024-2025.
The recipients, representing 28 counties and tribal areas in Montana, were honored during the 2024 Montana 4-H Congress held at Montana State University in Bozeman on July 11. Jane Wolery, Executive Director of the Montana 4-H Foundation, emphasized the foundation’s commitment to assisting these young individuals in achieving their academic aspirations through higher education.
Scholarship recipients have been selected from various counties and tribal areas, each awarded based on their achievements and future educational goals. Here is a summary of the recipients and their respective scholarships:
**Beaverhead County**
– Taryn Martinell, June Beaver Scholarship, $1,000.
– Lacey Pape, Murdoch’s Ranch & Home Supply Scholarship, $1,000.
**Blaine County**
– Hannah Richman, Douglas A. & Nancy W. Dear Memorial Scholarship, $500.
**Broadwater County**
– Colton Noyes, Montana Wheat and Barley Scholarship, $1,250.
**Cascade County**
– Macy Herman, Bud Dawson Livestock Scholarship, $500.
– Baylee Herman, Montana Farm Bureau Foundation Scholarship, $500.
– Haley Hoerner, Bob and Margaret King Memorial 4-H Scholarship, $500.
– Clayton Jassen, Nutrien Ag 4-H Scholarship, $1,000.
– Hudson Rohrer, Barbara Edens Memorial Scholarship, $500.
And the list continues with recipients from other counties such as Chouteau, Custer, Fergus, Flathead, Gallatin, Garfield, Glacier, Lake, Lewis and Clark, Liberty, Madison, Mineral, Musselshell, Park, Ravalli, Richland, Sanders, Stillwater, Sweet Grass, Teton, Toole, Valley, Wheatland, and Yellowstone.
Each scholarship aims to support the educational endeavors of these outstanding individuals, fostering leadership and community involvement cultivated through Montana 4-H programs. The Montana 4-H Foundation, a vital part of MSU Extension, plays a crucial role in providing educational opportunities for youth aged 5 to 18 across the state.
